With this program we support the most vulnerable children, street children, teen mothers and their children through education, helping them to get the most from their time at school and providing a foundation for a productive and happy future
These are young people who a few years back were written off as school drop outs but today are assured of daily income and are assisting their children and siblings to attend school.
Youth unemployment is also a big issue in Uganda with the unemployment rate for young people ages 15–24 at 83%.
To try and address this, we have partnered with Mirembe Community College and launched several programs designed to give skills to the young people both girls and boyson our programme.
Our Early childhood centre at Kyebando- Kampala ( donated by Plan Uganda 2015) The centre caters for the students' children while their mothers acquire vocational skills.
The pre-school centre caters for children aged 3-5 years. It was created to provide play and early childhood education for the students' children. Currently the benefits are far reaching to other children within the families of Kyebando community and run by the parents/guardians with support from Plan-Uganda.
Often the children we support face difficulties or challenges, either individually or with their families.
Our team of social workers will follow up and offer support and advice to try and resolve any issues being faced.
